This is an excellent hotel, well appointed and beautifully designed. Our room was comfortable, well furnished with hand-crafted pieces and cleaned thoroughly each day. The staff were very friendly and eager to help, and were particularly supportive when my girlfriend was feeling unwell, arranging for a doctor to visit at 4am and offering us the free use of a room after the checkout time. The location, in a quiet street just off St. Stefano, is close to all the main attractions without being right in the crowd. I don't normally bother writing reviews, but I was particularly impressed with the Novecento, and would have no hesitation in recommending it to others.
Friendly helpful staff, room and bathroom were big enough for us and baby with her cot and all our luggage! They were extremely kind and thoughtful and made up a big clean cot with linens and even provided a hooded baby towel. Room had a bar fridge so we could keep baby food and drink. Free internet. Handy location to St Marks square but very quiet. A number of places very handy where we bought cheap meals. Breakfast was included and although limited choice, was very good and included cereals. They organised a free water taxi to a glass factory on Murano which was a no-pressure excursion and a good chance to try a water taxi.
Excellent hotel to visit Venice. Within walking distance of all the major museums and attractions. Nice cozy lounges to prepare your visits or relax on the way back. Comfortable and quiet room. Excellent advice from the staff to enjoy the city: concerts, museums, restaurants, transportation... they help you choose and make reservations.
The comfort and cleanliness of the hotel and the helpfulness of the staff were as good as we could have hoped for. The location was convenient for the sights and attractions in Venice, it was central. The ambience in the hotel mirrored this magical city.
A wonderful hotel which felt more akin to staying in a private house than a hotel. The location was excellent and the staff and the decor all provided a relaxed chic atmosphere perfect for a boutique hotel weekend getaway. The price, (we paid 140 Euros per night) was excellent in comparison to similar hotels we had looked at. We will certainly stay here again.
A charming hotel with a personal touch. Very helpful reception staff that spoke good english. Attractive room with very comfortable bed. Good breakfast buffet eaten in courtyard garden. Lovely stay.
We loved being in such a convenient location! Everyone was very helpful in terms of suggesting places to eat, stores to find forgotten items, and routes to destinations.
The only minor problem to us was the small size of the shower.
We loved EVERYTHING in this boutique hotel!!! I would recommend it to anyone who prefer to stay in a cosy family atmosphere with VERY friendly staff, REALLY stylish interiors, the BEST croissants i've ever tried for breakfast which you can enjoy in a cosy small inside garden full with plants, pieces of art and birds' singing! :-) It seemed as though we came to visit our best friends or relatives. We really want to say our THANKS for Romanelli family who owns this small but very peculiar hotel! And we will definately come back one day!
If you have huge bags, please, mind that even though the boat stop is not far from the hotel but you still will have to carry them up and down some small but bridges :-)
Room was gorgeous and so big after our overnight train ride! It was a short walk to all of the major attractions (st. Marks, accademia, guiggenheim) but quite and away from the swarm of day trippers.
The grouting around the tub needed to be replaced as it was slightly moldy and I am a total germ freak. Otherwise, the room was very clean.
We liked everything about this hotel. The staff was amazingly accommodating. The property was in a great location...close to everything, but in a quiet area. Loved the decor and ambiance. Not only will we return, we won't stay anywhere else in Venice!
Great location, fabulous staff, stylish hotel
This is a wonderful beautiful boutique hotel with a wonderful, friendly, helpful staff. It is a great location about halfway between the Accademia bridge and San Marco. The hotel is like a museum with lovely artwork and tapestries, with large common rooms on each floor. Great recommendations for restaurants, events, sites. I can't imagine a more perfect place for a couple to visit Venice.
There is no elevator, so those with disabilities should stay elsewhere.
The staff was very helpful and friendly. They gave a great dinner recommendation - a bennifico.
The hotel staff is very friendly and is there to help you with whatever you need. They are well educated and kind. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the hotel, as a whole, is quite charming. A true boutique hotel, for sure. The location is also excelent, between the Accademia and the Piazza di San Marco regions. If you have been at Venice before, from the hotel you can reach all the neighborhoods you want without having to face tons of tourist groups walking through the narrow streets.
Friendly & helpful owners, free WiFi throughout the hotel, good breakfast, convenient location.
Perhaps a little pricey at Euro 280 - 300 per night per room.
